01 Packages

What these are not

None of these is a gambling offer. Nothing here has to be claimed, matched or wagered to be worth the money. Two of them include a credit that can be spent in the Signal Room or on dinner, at your choice, and most guests spend it on dinner.

Five packages. Each one is a stay with something already paid for.

We keep the list short because long lists are usually a way of hiding the good rate. Everything below is bookable by telephone or by enquiry, includes GST, and is priced per room rather than per person unless it says otherwise. Rates rise in January and February, at Easter and during the Rhododendron Festival week in October.

Packages can be moved once without charge up to seven days before arrival. They cannot be combined with each other, and the credit in the Stay & Play and Salon Evening packages has no cash value and cannot be withdrawn — it is spent in the house or it is not spent at all.

Package 01

Three Nights on the Terrace

Three nights in a Harbour Room, breakfast every morning, and dinner for two on one night of your choosing.

The straightforward one. Three nights, breakfast in the Bracken Dining Room each morning, a three-course dinner for two, late checkout at 2pm and the shuttle whenever you want it. Available Sunday to Thursday year round and at weekends outside January, February and the October festival week.

Minimum three consecutive nights. Dinner is the set three-course menu; the à la carte difference is charged on the night. Subject to availability. Full terms apply.

Package 02

Stay & Play

Two nights, breakfast, and a NZ$150 house credit that you may spend in the Signal Room or in the dining room.

Two nights in a Harbour Room or Signal Suite, breakfast both mornings, and NZ$150 of credit on your account. Spend it downstairs in the gaming lounge, spend it on dinner and a bottle, or split it. We do not ask, and nothing about the package requires you to gamble at all.

Package 03

The Aramoana Two Nights

Two nights, breakfast, and a 90-minute treatment each at the Aramoana Spa.

Two nights in a Belt or Harbour Room, breakfast both mornings, and a 90-minute treatment for each guest — the Harbour Ritual, a deep-tissue hour and a half, or the hot stone, whichever suits. Pool, sauna and thermal suite are included with any stay, package or not.

Package 04

A Salon Evening

One night, dinner for two, and the Sandymount Salon held for your party for the evening with a host and a supper service.

For a birthday, an anniversary, or a company night that has run out of ideas. One night in a Signal Suite, dinner for two in the Bracken Dining Room, and the Salon reserved from 8pm for a party of up to fourteen with a duty host who stays with the room and a supper counter from the Bracken kitchen. A NZ$200 house credit comes with it, and may be spent on dinner instead.

Package 05

The Long Way Round

Four nights, breakfast, a day on the peninsula with a driver, and dinner on your last night.

Four nights in a Harbour Room or Signal Suite, breakfast every morning, and one full day with a driver down the harbour road: Taiaroa Head and the albatross colony, Sandfly Bay for the sea lions, lunch at Portobello, and back by the high road if the weather allows it. Dinner for two on the fourth night. The concierge desk will tell you honestly if the forecast means we should move the day.

The peninsula day runs subject to weather and albatross colony opening; it can be moved to any day of your stay or refunded in full if it cannot run. Minimum four consecutive nights. Full terms apply.

Two packages include house credit. That credit is not a gambling bonus, cannot be withdrawn, cannot be transferred, and expires when you check out.

Nothing in any package requires a guest to gamble, and no package is priced on the assumption that a guest will. If you would rather the credit went on dinner, tell reception at check-in and it will be moved to your dining account before you have thought about it again.

04 If gambling is not fun any more

Any time

Ask any member of staff. It does not have to be the duty host, and it does not have to be said out loud in front of anyone.

Our packages exist to fill rooms in a hotel, not to move people onto a gaming floor. If a package has put you somewhere you did not want to be, tell us and we will unwind it. You can exclude yourself from the Signal Room in writing at reception, confidentially, for a minimum of two years, and we will not ask you why.
